Study 1 will involve an initial synthesis of peer-reviewed literature to explore the influences on the intention of personal care workers (PCWs) working in residential aged care to stay or leave, or their actual turnover from, the aged care sector. In addition, this review will investigate supports that are effective in retaining employees. The findings of the review will guide the individual interviews (Study 2) with PCWs working in residential aged care and those who have left the aged care sector.
